ITS instruments used in research into the mixing of adhesives

At ITS, we help our customers with a range of tomography solutions, including Electrical Capacitance Tomography, or ECT. This versatile technology involves taking multiple measurements at the periphery of a process vessel or pipeline, to provide information on the electrical properties of the process volume.

We’re excited to share that ECT was recently used by researchers Sascha Voß & Morten Voß, who were investigating ways to monitor the mixing of adhesives. They used a customised ITS sensor and our m3c instrument to find that the mixing of a variety of 2 part adhesives may be monitored by ECT.

Read part I of the study here where they describe measurements that allowed them to determine which adhesives are amenable to ECT.

We’re looking forward to reading Part 2, which is due to be published at the beginning of 2023 and will focus on the ECT experiments.
