ITS Non-nuclear Dens-itometer steals the show at conference in Brazil
Building upon the success of the previous World Congress on Industrial Process Tomography (WCIPT) in Krakow, Poland three years ago the conference returns; this time held in Brazil overlooking the world famous Iguaçu Falls.
The WCIPT is the most significant tomography focused event of the year; it presents a unique opportunity to exchange views and experiences with renowned academics and industry professionals from all over the globe. Returning to the conference has always been a top priority for us here at ITS, on this occasion we were proudly represented by our Principal Systems Engineer, Changhua Qiu.
Being invited to speak on the subject of ‘industrial innovation with process tomography’ was seen as a perfect opportunity to talk about the influence made by our Dens-itometer upon the mining and dredging sector. The ITS Dens-itometer is unparalleled; the instrument can provide data independent of flow regime without a nuclear power source. The environmentally friendly ITS Dens-itometer provides a genuine threat to the use of all gamma densitometers as it eliminates the health risks associated with radiation and eliminates the high cost of installing and transporting anything gamma related.
The ITS Dens-itometer presentation was met to a very positive response within a packed out exhibition theater in the Rafain Palace Conference Centre. After the presentation, ITS showed its support for its colleagues within the field by attending exhibitions on: electrical capacitance measurements in relation to liquid metals, annular flow pattern recognition and image reconstruction algorithms.
WCIPT8 was a roaring success. Industrial process tomography has made huge steps in three short years and continues to make innovative progression.
