Delegates enthused and inspired by latest ITS User Workshop
On Thursday 19th May 2016, tomography users from across the globe flocked to Manchester for the latest User Workshop hosted by ITS.
Showcasing our latest developments, new applications, and tips for using ITS systems, in addition to providing a platform for users to share presentations about their work with tomography, this year’s User Workshop was a huge success. The day was split into two halves, with the morning presentations focusing on ITS’s Research Solutions, while the afternoon looked at our new Industrial Products.
While enjoying coffee and delicious pastries from the Castelfield Rooms, the day kick off with presentations from ITS’s Dr Kent Wei about his exciting work using tomography to monitor inline rheology. This was followed by a presentation by Senior Applications Engineer Dr Shijie Liang on how to get the most out of ITS’s tools.
Delegates were then treated to three presentations from leading universities, detailing their innovative research involving tomography. We were privileged to have Qiang Wang from the University of Leeds share his work into bubble mapping, Tom Rodgers from the University of Manchester speaking on surface cleaning of sensors, and the president of the International Society for Industrial Process Tomography (ISIPT) Prof Masahiro Takei (from Chiba University in Japan) talking about the ways in with he has utilized ITS’s research solutions.
After lunch, delegates had the opportunity to learn more about ITS’s industrial products, with presentations from Senior Applications Engineer Wadoud Hazineh and Operations Director Hassan Amrani. This was followed by two presentations from leading industrial users of tomography: the dredging giant Van Oord, and major chemical producer Johnson Matthey.
Throughout the day, delegates were able to network with tomography users and were treated to live demonstrations of ITS’s latest tomography tools.
