ITS has completed a government sponsored project to apply process tomography to interface detection
Whilst there are many interface detection techniques, there are certain circumstances where interfaces are challenging to identify using classic methods. Electrical tomography can detect interfaces between a number of different systems:
- Slurry / supernatant interface (cloud height) in a solids suspension
- Organic / aqueous interface which can arise during phase inversion
- Liquid - liquid separation
- Liquid foam interface
