ITS User Day Follow Up
31/5/2007
On the 9th of May, ITS organised their first Industrial User Day to give the opportunity to their customers to interact and share opinions as well as experiences about Electrical Tomography.

17 users from various industries participated to this event supported by 7 members of the ITS team.
This has been a very interesting day and we would like to thank all attendees for their time and contribution which leaded to the success of this workshop.
A special thank you to Dr Richard Williams for chairing the event and to the speakers Dr Mike Cooke (University of Manchester), Laurent Palierne (Glaxo Smithkline) and Dr Dominic Rhodes (Nexia Solutions) who very kindly agreed to present case studies.
The event started by a brief introduction of all attendees and leaded to an understanding of the participant's expectations:
ITS Expectations
- Receive new industrial challenges
- Listen to and interact with the user base
- Receive customer's feedback
- Create a user network
- Identify new applications and opportunities
Customers Expectations:
- Learn about other applications across all industries
- Learn about the future ITS development plans
- Networking
- Exchange views and opinions
- Transmit enthusiasm and drive
- Gain confidence in the reliability of the technology
- Talk about upscale
- Learn about specific applications: misdistribution, filtration monitoring, slurry mixing

It was encouraging to see that customers had matching objectives independent from their experience or industry and were keen to learn more about the technology and its applications as well as talk to other users.
What's next? :
1. User site
ITS will shortly open a "Customer Private Site". An online password protected link on our main website will lead you to an "ITS User website".
This new tool will give you access to general ITS information including manuals and literature, to case studies and papers as well as some user tips. You will be able to interact will ITS through the website by uploading and downloading information such as data sets (which sometimes can not be sent by email), purchase orders and invoices, reports and research projects. Finally users will be able to interact with each other and exchange views and experiences through forums/blogs.
2. Application specific User groups
ITS will organise user group meetings with the objective to reunite users looking at the same applications. Suggestions of subjects are welcome.
3. Next User day
ITS may look at another User Day towards the end of the year for users that would not have been able to attend to this one. Suggestions of most convenient dates and locations (especially for our international users) are welcome.
We are hoping to have at least one User Day each year and hope to count even more participants next time.
