One of the interesting aspects of process tomography is how the same unit process can be found across a range of industries. Two of the most common are mixing and transport of slurries.
Gary Bolton (Senior Applications Engineer), Industrial Tomography Systems) recently attended the 8th World Congress of Chemical Engineering in Montreal, Canada, where he had the opportunity to meet with ITS users from Canada, Australia and the UK.
Farhad Ein-Mozaffari is Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Ryerson University in Toronto where he is head of the Fluid Mixing Technology Laboratory. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of British Columbia.
Professor Reginald Mann passed away on Sunday, June 7th, 2009. Reg had been taken ill with a serious stroke on Friday June 5th. Reg, who was an Emeritus Professor in Chemical Engineering at UMIST (later the University of Manchester) is survived by his wife Gillian Taylor, and his two sons Ian and Graham.
