Case Study: Combination of ultrasound and electrical resistance tomography
Combination of ultrasound and electrical resistance tomography as a basis for on-line characterisation of wet particulate systems.
Ultrasound spectroscopy is a measurement technique which provides considerable data for particulate systems. However it is challenging to perform and interpret on-line, due in part to the complex nature of concentrated particulate systems.
Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) is a relatively new on-line measurement technology that is gaining acceptance as a means of process monitoring by measuring electrical impedance distribution within a volume. ERT has been widely applied to determine the characteristics of two component systems such as slurries.
This White Paper will provide early experimental results of a measurement platform which combines ultrasound measurements with electrical resistance tomography.
